WinShip Setup

Instructions for installation on a Windows 95 or 98 computer

  1. Click on "Download".
  2. When prompted, choose "Run this program from its current location".
  3. If a security warning is issued regarding the publisher of Winship.exe, select Yes to install the program.
  4. The installation program will start. Select Setup to start the installation.
  5. Follow the instructions that appear onscreen. In most cases, the default values will be fine.
  6. When you have finished, the Winship program will be available to you as Start > Programs > Winship.
  7. The first time you run the program, it will ask you which dictionary you would like to use for spell check.
  8. After you have selected  a language, it will display a message that the server is not responding. Click the "Change Addr" button.
  9. Enter either the IP address or the Winship name and password for your server. If you do not know these values, please contact Responsive support.
