How do I dial into the office from home via modem? (Back to top)

To dial into the office from home via modem:

  1. Double click My Computer.
  2. Double click Dial-Up Networking.
  3. Type in: the name of the connection (normally call office, but you may call it anything you like).
  4. Click: Next.
  5. Enter the phone number (and area code if it's not in your calling area).
  6. Click: Finish.
  7. Click with the right mouse button on the New Connection you've just entered and click create short-cut.
  8. A dialog box will pop up that says: You cannot create a short-cut here, create short-cut on desktop instead?
  9. Answer: Yes.
  10. Close all of the windows.
  11. Double: click shortcut to office.
  12. Put in User Name, Password and click Connect.
  13. Once connected double click: WinShip.
  14. When finished with WinShip don't forget to disconnect by double clicking the two flashing computers and clicking disconnect.
